Closer with Skype. Elections 2016
As part of the wider Microsoft role in the 2016 US Presidential Elections, Skype supported a number of company-wide initiatives. Most notably, this took the form of a pop-up Skype TX Studio at the Iowa Caucuses which drove over 60 hours of Skype-enabled broadcast coverage across the world, as well as driving awareness of Skype TX amongst the global media. We capitalised on our presence at the Iowa Caucuses to film our own content. Execution: I worked with a production crew on the ground at the Iowa Caucus to secure over 20 interviews with prominent broadcasters, political commentators, politicians and campaign staff for a two part series, ‘Closer with Skype: Elections 2016’. The series explored the relationship between technology and elections coverage, in the build up to one of the most talked about presidential elections in years.
